The Butterfly IQ Diagnostic Ultrasound is a portable, handheld ultrasound device that Dr. Royall can use to diagnose a variety of foot and ankle problems. These may include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, tendon injuries, and soft tissue masses, among various other conditions. The Butterfly IQ consists of the ultrasound device itself and an app on a smartphone. When the device is connected via cable to the doctor’s smartphone, the images produced by the ultrasound device are shown on the phone's screen. These images can be saved, annotated, and stored in a HIPAA compliant cloud. This is convenient, as it allows Dr. Royall to digitally share your ultrasound and their findings with you and any healthcare professionals that you may have designated, such as your primary care physician.
